(excerpt from intro)

"With Fantasy High, there’s a lot to talk about on subsequent viewings, given the fact that it was the very first season of Dimension 20 and the incredible length and depth of Fantasy High: Sophomore Year. The 2nd iteration of D20’s inaugural campaign is seen by some fans to be the height of the entire anthology, diving into the interpersonal traumas of the mostly-comedic main cast of Fantasy High. Several former background characters got their chance in the spotlight too, becoming sidekicks to the main cast with the newly-introduced Hireling mechanic.

Most of them are directly related to the main cast. These include Fig’s mother Sandralynn Faeth, a ranger with a complicated past and an even more complicated personality, Tracker O’Shaughnessey, Kristen’s werewolf girlfriend who was essential to her acceptance of her sexuality, and Cathilida Ceíli, the Seacaster Family’s maid who had become what is essentially Fabian’s surrogate mother due to Hallariel’s “sixteen year bender,” aka. alcoholism.

And Ragh.

Ragh Barkrock always stuck out in the Bad Kids’ hirelings, being the only one that isn’t either dating or directly related to one of the main cast. Ragh was just part of Gorgug and Fabian’s football team, and even Gorgug wasn’t especially focused on recruiting him. Ragh Barkrock was chosen as a hireling by Fabian, ignoring anyone who protested (read: Adaine) simply because he liked having him around.

It was objectively a good choice, too. Ragh quickly became Fabian’s closest friend that wasn’t officially a member of the Bad Kids’, and, during his breakdown after James Whitclaw’s murder of the Cult of Old Bill, Ragh was the only person who had enough of a mind to comfort him in his lowest moments, not being blinded by fear of further consequence like Riz or Kristen. Ragh is, to Fabian, arguably on the same level as the Bad Kids in importance, being much like Tracker to Kristen, Ayda to Fig, or Zelda to Gorgug.

… Hey. Wait a second."

Honestly, there's not much to say here. While it's often called a rarepair (and for good reason), there's still plenty of people who think that Ragh and Fabian have a lot of romantic potential. If you're one of them, check out our work, ranging from monochrome comics, to fully-rendered romantic pieces, a multi-thousand word fic, and a drawing of both of them as frogs. (Get it?)

If you love Fabragh, you'll probably love this zine. If you don't love Fabragh... well, you can always start. And maybe CRAB KINGS: a fabragh zine will be that push!
